LNG WORLD
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is natural gas (mainly methane, CH₄, with a component of ethane, C₂H₆) cooled to –161 / –164 °C and converted into liquid form to facilitate safe storage and transport without pressure. In this state, it is odorless, colorless, slightly toxic and non-corrosive. LNG represents an important alternative to natural gas transported via pipelines. Since natural gas is highly flammable, strict safety standards must be followed to prevent explosion risks.
ETS Engineering S.p.A. is a worldwide leading specialist in explosion-proof solutions, with lifting products compliant with the ATEX Directive and IECEx standards.

ETS FOR LNG
The hoist range ensures maximum safety for capacities from 2,000 kg to 35,000 kg. The WRH wire rope hoist is designed and manufactured in compliance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU. IECEx versions, EAC certification, Norsok compliance and UL/NEMA standards are also available.
The hoists are suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres with EEx-d & EEx-d(e) protection for Zones 1 and 2, groups 2G and 3G, for gases (IIA, IIB, IIC) and for dust (Zones 21 and 22, groups 2D and 3D – IIIB and IIIC), with temperature classes T3, T4 and T5. The three-phase asynchronous motor with IP55 / IP66 protection degree, insulation class F and temperature rise B ensures high performance across different duty classes.
ETS WRH wire rope hoists are designed for maintenance operations on LNG tanks and are installed in numerous plants and terminals worldwide.
Thanks to high-quality components, robust construction, corrosion-resistant coating, 3D design engineering and many other features, they are particularly suitable for coastal and marine environments.
LNG hoists can be designed with single or double drum, for parallel or redundant operation, and are equipped with a terminal system with bushing for housing the LNG pump rope.
